Izabela Lukomska Pyzalska, (AFP) - Polish Second Division stragglers Warta Poznan may have found a secret weapon in their fight to avoid falling: a star of the former play Boy cover. Izabela Lukomska-Pyzalska, 33, was appointed president of the club and is pledging to run a tight ship to try to save from relegation Warta. Lukomska-Pyzalska currently leading real estate and construction in the western city of Poland. "It's not really a world of women, either," she noted. "I worked as a model quite a few years ago. I was in the construction development and property for five years. In these five years we have become a leading developer of Poznan. I think I can get the same in football, "she said. "I do not have a touch of light in the construction sector, I am looking for the same thing in football. Order and discipline," she added. Lukomska-Pyzalska featured on the covers of Play Boy, where she was "Playmate of the Year" in 2001, and other adult magazines. She also appeared in a Polish soap opera entitled "What are men afraid of?" Warta is ready to celebrate their 100th anniversary next year, making them one of the oldest clubs in Poland. But their glory days are firmly in the past. They remained firmly in the top three in the 1920 and 1930, and won the title in 1929. During the Second World War when the Germans occupying Nazis banned Polish sport, continued Warta Poznan in a league secret. They won the championship again in 1949 but were relegated the following year. They finally returned to the elite in 1993 but have remained in place for two seasons. They are currently third from bottom in the second division, leaving them with an uphill battle when the league resumed in March after the winter break. Copyright © 2011 AFP. All rights reserved.
