17 Florida Schools On Lockdown , The Deputy City Attorney Pembroke Pines, Julie Klahr reported on CNN that "action was requested by the police and was not only established by the administrative offices of the school system. Seventeen of the 231 traditional schools in the county, 69 charters, and a virtual classroom were placed under lock. Pembroke Pines is about 20 miles northwest of Miami, Florida.

The Police Service of Pembroke Pines has revealed that a "possible threat" was received at 8:40 this morning ", refers to schools in the city of Pembroke Pines. Although this potential threat has not been confirmed as a precaution, the Broward County Schools and Pembroke Pines Charter schools are on lock. An email has been sent indicating that "something big would happen" around government buildings in Broward County. The Broward Sheriff's Office, Broward and other schools in Broward County agencies have been informed. "
